Mary Curran Bitner: Mary Curran Bitner PSA “When I paint, I become a part of another world where time stands still and music flows through my consciousness.” Longing for fine original art to enhance her home, she decided to create her own. Since childhood she was immersed in the arts, she then turned her artistic focus on the visual arts and she found her true calling. Mary Ellen’s award winning work has been represented in galleries throughout Florida and Alabama and has been accepted in the Sound FX Show at the Tampa Museum of Art and many other juried and shows in Florida as well as many other states. In 2011 Mary Curran was voted as a Signature Member of the Pastel Society of America. Her abstract pastel, “Symphony to an Unruly Child,” was juried into the 40th Annual Pastel Society of America Exhibition, “Enduring Brilliance” at the National Arts Club, New York, New York. The artist is a founding member and Past-President of the North Tampa Arts League as well as the founding Art Curator of the Carrollwood Cultural Center. Alao chosen as a Finalist in The Artists Magazine’s Annual Competition for 2013.
